Plumeria Moon is a cozy and private cottage on the edge of a bluff with a wonderful view of the ocean. You will look down on majestic albatross nesting on the cliffs of protected conservation land. This very private vacation home is fully equipped for living in total comfort and absolute relaxation. A favorite amenity is the completely private outdoor shower and hot tub with beautiful ocean views.
Kuokoa is the Hawaiian word for Freedom and expresses well the feeling of Plumeria Moon. It has been described by guests as "eden," "heaven on earth," and "truly peaceful and harmonious." The many subtle angles of the architecture and the various outdoor spaces for basking in Kauai’s warmth make it very comfortable, pleasant, and rejuvenating. This is a very special cottage in an incredibly beautiful area. Most guests find it hard to leave; I’ve been told many times to warn future guests that 4-5 days here isn’t enough time.
A big lanai with gas barbecue overlooking the ocean, a sun deck for working on your tan, a quiet lava rock garden for peaceful meditations, a lawn covered hillside for a picnic and of course the hot tub for soaking in the beautiful view are all private outdoor spaces around the cottage accented with fragrant flowers and mature fruit trees. Privacy, natural beauty and everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation are right here.

$500 refundable deposit

(Diane is truly a master cleaner and worth every penny.)
11.416% Hawaii state taxes will be added. Security deposits and half of rental fees are required within 10 days of booking, and the full amount is due 30 days prior to arrival.

PS: Hawaiian time is behind the West Coast by 2 hours in Winter, and 3 hours in the Summer; we don't use daylight savings time.
Warning: 1) Many guests are so delighted when they arrive and experience the peace and beauty of the cottage that they lose interest in the many activities they planned ahead of time. 2) Although 4 nights is our minimum stay length, it is a bit of a tease to be there for such a short time- one guest said it was "like eating half of a great meal".

Plumeria Moon’s comfort and amenities continue on the inside with a queen size bed, Satellite TV, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, microwave, washer dryer, coffee maker, etc. The kitchen is perfect for cooking with abandon and then romantically dining indoors or out overlooking a beautiful ocean view. If you think cooking and vacation shouldn’t be used in the same sentence then you will enjoy the great food at the numerous restaurants in the area just minutes away.

Guests staying in Plumeria Moon enjoy a short walk down a private trail that leads to secluded and beautiful Pila'a Beach. This beach is for many a dream come true.
Limited public access to this beach and an abundance of beaches in the area cause this picturesque white sand beach to be deserted most of the time. The shell hunting is particularly good at this beach yet swimming and snorkeling conditions vary depending on the ocean tide. Sunsets at Pila'a are exquisite and watching the waves is always relaxing.
The complete privacy of the well separated homes, and wonderful Pila'a Beach a short walk away, lead to many guests hardly using their rental cars.
Just five miles of the property there are eight different uniquely beautiful beaches to enjoy. The further you drive in either direction the more beaches there are. Forty Four percent of Kauai's coastline is beach.
There are over fifty miles of beach on this incredible island.
In addition to exploring the beaches there are many other activities in the immediate area. Some of them are hiking, golf, horseback riding, tennis, kayaking, surfing, fishing, snorkeling, bird watching, bike rentals, shopping, fine dining, and visiting the nearby health club, botanical gardens, or historic lighthouse.
Kauai's North Shore is abundant with natural beauty to discover and there are many ways to experience it.
