Our glorious oceanfront event/wedding property in Northport, one of only two private oceanfront wedding properties in Midcoast Maine offered publicly for rent. This property features rolling lawns, orchards, and a beautiful view of the head of Penobscot Bay from a large flat tent area at the base of the property. Also included are two small "cottages".
Rented by the week on a Monday to Monday basis, this great property can be your wedding home-base for the week.
Entering the long private drive to the property through a beautiful stonewall, you can turn right or left down the various carriage roads on the property. The "top" of the property features two cottages included with the rental of the property for your event. The "Bride" & "Groom" cottage are former caretaker cottages from the days when Longwood was a large private estate (the original mansion burned down many years ago).
The cottages are thoughtfully decorated by the owners who also own and operate the Jeweled Turret Inn in neighboring Belfast (please don't contact the owner's about Longwoods - we are their agents and handle all affairs for the proeprty). The "Groom's Cottage" is above the garage and has a kitchen, dining area, stall shower bath, living room, and a comfortable bedroom with two twins (can be made into a king). Right next door, the "Bride's Cottage" has a living room, large kitchen, stall shower bathroom, and queen sized bedroom. Both cottages feel like an extension of the owner's inn.
Several hundred yards below the cottages, and through a maze of beautifully landscaped gardens, stonewalls, and other rock formations, is the large flat tent area with "bar tender's shack". The tent area has running water and plenty of electric outlets available. The largest rental tents in Maine can easily be set up to accommodate events up to 250 people.
Below the tent area is a gentle hill leading to the water. A natural "amphitheater", the hill makes a great spot to set up a seating area overlooking the ocean for a ceremony.
There are stairs that lead down to the beach, but they are steep and require the utmost caution in there use. In planning events, do not include access to the beach as part of your plans. However, you and a few friends or family can use the beach for a fire or barbecue during the planning days of your event.

Camden is a 25 minute drive south. Lincolnville Beach and the world famous Lobster Pound Restaurant are also a short 15 minute drive away. Within walking distance is the best Mexican restaurant around, Dos Amigos, and the (real)Bayside General Store. Not enough can be said about nearby Belfast, offering restaurants, movies and shopping. Acadia National Park is just over an hour north, an easy and unforgettable day trip.
A 9-hole public golf course is located within Bayside.
The Northport Yacht Club is located at the waterfront. Sailing Lessons for the 10-17 yr old children in your group are available a stone's throw away at the Northport Yacht Club. They are available every week from July 3rd through August 8th, Mon - Wed - Fri 9:30am - 12:30pm
Good food awaits you in the Belfast/Searsport area 4 to 8 miles to the northeast, and in the Camden/Rockport area 12 to 16 miles to the south.
Acadia National Park is about an hour and a half away. Several lakes and state parks are close by.
