Orion’s Rest is a classic Maine oceanfront cottage with expansive views of Muscongus Bay and surrounding islands. This home is extremely private with no close neighbors, and no other homes in sight. In a neighborhood filled with high-end 2nd homes spread out on large lots, you can enjoy being in a spot where other's have considered their retirement living should be.
Traditionally styled, this nicely appointed home boasts many wonderful features. The house is decorated with a Pottery Barn / Restoration Hardware look, and very much encompasses the feel of a comfortable Maine retreat. This is one of our best decorated and most comfortable properties.
The kitchen is bright and open and includes gleaming wood countertops, a dishwasher, electric range/oven, microwave, toaster and refrigerator with icemaker. The kitchen also includes all of the utensils and cookware to make any meal, including a lobster pot. The dining area is complimented not only by views of the bay but by the large working brick fireplace. The living room consists of several comfortable chairs and a sofa overlooking the deck and water. The master bedroom is on the first floor and includes a queen bed. There is a Den that has a flat screen TV with DVD player and DirectTV satellite service. There is a bathroom with a shower as well as a half bath and a laundry room finishing out the first level. The second level includes 3 bedrooms and a full bath. One bedroom has two twin beds and the other two have queen beds. Two of the bedrooms enjoy water views. An open area with a pullout/futon upstairs is a possible sleeping area for a 9th person (if child).
Situated privately on 2 acres, this property has over 300' of ocean frontage. The yard was landscaped by a master landscaper and includes stonewalls and terraced gardens. Adirondack chairs sit upon the large deck overlooking the yard and water frontage. The water’s edge has a pebbly beach area that is a great place to launch a kayak or just sit and watch the waves roll in. This is a destination property where you and your closest friends or family can getaway from it all for a relaxing vacation.
