Property Information
The Inn at Washington Square

Formerly the stately Victorian rectory of St. Joseph's Church, The Inn at Washington Square is now an all-suite inn.

Instead of a hotel, instead of a bed and breakfast, our suites are a wonderful alternative to traditional accommodations. The Inn consists of two spacious studio suites and two large three-bedroom apartments one for long-term rental, the other for short- or long-term.

With its ideal location, The Inn at Washington Square is perfectly situated, allowing you to discover the variety of activities Newport has to offer. You are just a short walk to the gaslit, cobblestoned streets of the Brick Market and scenic Newport Harbor and strolling distance to the many restaurants, pubs, theatres, galleries, shops and museums. Walk to Thames Street, Bellevue Avenue, Newport Yachting Center, Newport Shipyard, and Touro Synagogue.

Experience Newport's Gilded Age - the opulent mansions that line Bellevue Avenue. Motor there in just five minutes. Easton's Beach, Newport's largest beach, is a brisk fifteen minute walk from The Inn.

Suites - Both suites have private entrances, cable television, iron and ironing board, and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. Each has a fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker. Each bedroom has either one king bed or two twin beds. Each bathroom has two sinks and shower. Complimentary off-street parking for one car.

Apartments - Each spacious apartment has three bedrooms and two full baths with shower/tubs. The Loft Apartment is unfurnished and available for long-term rentals only. The Garden Apartment is furnished and can be rented for long or short term. Both apartments have its own washer / dryer. Each has off-street parking for two cars.

We have a lovely garden/patio area with barbeque grills for guest use.
The Inn At Washington Square is strictly non-smoking.

We would be delighted to have you as our guest and look forward to your visit.

    Property Activities
Nowhere is there a destination so rich in history, style and culture as Newport, Rhode Island.

From its founding in 1639 as a haven for those seeking religious freedom, to its present day glory as a favored spot of America's Cup yachtspersons, CEOs, blushing brides and families seeking fun, The City By The Sea has remained a resort for those seeking a getaway unlike any other.

Whatever the season, there is no limit to the events and activities in Newport County. From the yachts and the many regattas to the international flair of our many music festivals, Newport is the place to be in the summer.

Autumn highlights Newport's rich history and culture. From a colonial walking tour to a leisurely stroll along the famed Cliff Walk to enjoying the many local fairs and festivals throughout the harvest season, this is truly a time to see and taste Newport.

Winter brings some of the best holiday shopping on the East Coast and warm, crackling fireplaces at our inviting bed & breakfast inns. Enjoy the lifestyles of the rich and famous by visiting the mansions on Bellevue Avenue or take a stroll on the wharves and experience the cuisine at the many restaurants and bistros along the way.

Newport is an enchanting island that will capture your imagination and never let it go.
