This wonderful oceanfront home in Cushing is a true destination property. Situated on a scenic cove, the property has sweeping views and many activities you can view from the back deck; including bird watching, lobster boats on a daily catch, fishing, and people kayaking. With a new dock for 2008, this property is a great place to start your kayaking adventures in the protected cove along it's shores.
Andrew Wyeth's famous Olsen House is in direct view from this property.
Tastefully furnished in 2007 to provide an exceptional Maine vacation experience, this home is very comfortable and was decorated by a professional designer.
Arriving at the private driveway, you will be greeted by a wonderfully landscaped yard. The entrance to the property allows you to either proceed to the private apartment above the garage, or into the main house. Fortunately, these two sections of the property are well-connected inside of the house so that you feel as if the whole property is yours, yet guests in your party can retreat to their own section if they desire for some peace and solitude.
Heading up above the garage to what was probably designed to be an in-law apartment, you will find a living room, full kitchen, full bath and bedroom. An extra bed source in the living room allows for 4 people to comfortably sleep here. From this living room, there are great views of the water. The kitchen is a great spot to cook up a surprise culinary treat for the other guests in the main house.
Entering the main section of the house, you will find each room is dedicated to it’s own theme. The kitchen, living and dining room areas are open to each other allowing everyone to gather by the kitchen while meals are being prepared. There is an attractive fireplace in the living room, and full length windows on the entire back side of the house facing the water. A separate entertainment room, fully equipped, is a wonderful spot for an evening movie, or a place to catch up on the news while enjoying your vacation. There is high-speed internet access available in the library.
Upstairs, the main house has two large bedrooms as well as a bonus loft. The Master bedroom has its own full bath and the private loft. The loft is a large space that may be used as a place to relax and read a book or put a puzzle together. The second upstairs bedroom is private and has its own full bath as well.
Outside, a large deck allows for a great place to sit and read, have a lobster feast with friends and family or just sit and watch the water and activities. The large flat yard is a perfect place for a game of whiffle ball or Frisbee. The “point” on the property is a short walk down across the large flat grassy yard. Out on the point, you will find a picnic table. This is a special isolated part of the property and a quiet place to drink your morning coffee, watch the birds fishing just out in the cove, or to play a game of rummy.
Watch the tide schedule to plan your kayaking adventure from this property. The cove drains at low tide, but is full enough of water during the other two thirds of the tide to enjoy plenty of kayaking right from the property's edge.
