Monument Place is a spectacular vacation rental in the Northeast Mountains of Georgia. This vacation home is located at 3200 feet above sea level on the southernmost extension of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The vacation home is within one half mile of the intersection of Gilmer, Pickens, and Dawson county, and is located just over an hour away from Atlanta.
Perched on the top of Sassafras Mountain on 5 acres of private land, Monument Place provides 4300 square feet of finished space, 2000 square feet of covered cedar deck and 1000 square feet of covered terrace level patio. From this ridgeline, guests can see over 70 miles to both the East and West.
This vacation home was completed in August of 2006 and is ideal for family reunions, small weddings, or family vacations. There are common areas on three different levels, and this vacation home has been is designed to accommodate a large group while still providing privacy to couples and individuals.
Some fun trivia: the property that this vacation home is on was literally on the Appalachian Trail until 1958, when in an effort to get the southern terminus of the trail into the Chattahoochee National Forest, the end of the trail was moved 8 miles to the north to its current location at Springer Mountain, which is the center of our view.

Jan 1 Dec 31 (2 night minimum) $375.00 per night base rate for up to 10 guests.
Additional guests are 35 per person per night. Seventh night is free,
making weekly base rate 2250.00. Children 2 and under stay free of charge.
1 week rental required for Thanksgiving, Christmas @ New Years weeks.
Three and Four day holiday weekends require 3 to 4 night minimum stay.
$200.00 Holiday weekend premium for major holiday weeks the last three
weekends in October.
$125 Cleaning Fee and 13% combined Georgia Sales/Lodging Tax are required.

Property Info
This 5-bedroom vacation home features spectacular views of the Northeast Georgia Mountains, including the terminus of the Appalachian Trail, and spectacular ways to enjoy them. Inside the house, appreciate the great outdoors by peering through 52 windows, 10 large sliding doors and one set of French doors – each offer panoramic views. The wraparound deck is a perfect place to kick back relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Great Room
The great room has 25-foot white pine and 3 stories of windows. TThere is a full home theatre with Dolby 5.1 surround sound, a 100-watt per channel Onkyo Digital receiver, DVD player, and a large Hitachi flat screen HDTV. The TV is mounted above the wood-burning fireplace. Sprawl out on one of the luxurious leather couches and enjoy the fire, a movie or game on the TV, and the spectacular mountain views.
Kitchen
The large, well-designed, fully-equipped kitchen features upgraded appliances, hickory cabinets, granite countertops, and six inch hickory plank floors. It is truly a wonderful place to prepare a meal. The kitchen features a breakfast bar and the dining room is just adjacent.
First Master Bedroom
The first master bedroom is located downstairs and has a king-size bed, perfect for snuggling up in after a long day on the slopes. The private bath features a double whirlpool tub and a vanity with granite countertops. This bedroom also features a TV with DVD/VCR combo.
Second Master Bedroom
The second master bedroom is located on the second floor and features a king-size bed and a full bath. This bedroom also features a TV with DVD/VCR combo.
Third Bedroom
This bedroom features a queen-size bed and full bath. This bedroom also features a TV with DVD/VCR combo.
Fourth Bedroom
This bedroom is on the terrace level at the top of the home. It features a comfortable bed, access to the sun deck, and beautiful views. There is a full bathroom that features two doors – one through the bedroom and one that leads to the family room. This bedroom also features a TV with DVD/VCR combo.
Fifth Bedroom

North Loft
The North loft features an 8 foot maple Great Western pool table and computer center with DSL and wireless internet.
East Loft
The East loft two Lifestyle, queen-size futons with upgraded 9 layer mattresses – perfect for reading books by day or sleeping extra guests at night.
Terrace Family Room
The terrace family room features a wet bar, gas fireplace, a beautiful poker table and another HD home theater system. There are also an additional two sleeping areas, each with queen size futons and private bath access.
Outdoor Living Spaces
Slide open the doors off the great room to reveal a huge covered cedar deck, with 3 sets of teak tables and chairs – a perfect place for an outdoor meal with the whole party. There is also a very large Vita Spa hot tub designed for 8. Upstairs, French doors from the loft lead to a second floor 12x14 sundeck with an incredible view. There is also a Creative Playthings play set with fort, rope ladder, slide, and a variety of swings for all ages. A fire pit has room for everyone to gather round – in chairs or tents!

Panoramic Places vacation homes are located between Ellijay, Georgia and Amicalola Falls, Georgia at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Just 90 miles north of Atlanta, our vacation homes offer convenience coupled with seclusion and beautiful views.
Downtown Ellijay, with an old-fashioned town square, is just 12 miles away and offers antique shops, art galleries, boutiques and specialty shops, and wonderful restaurants and eateries. In the fall, Ellijay hosts the best Apple Festival in the North Georgia Mountains.
Mountain bike trails and hiking trails are close by, including the famous Appalachian Trail. Whitewater rafting and canoeing are available on the Cartecay and Toccoa rivers.
