This luxury home is in the heart of historic Valle Crucis, a beautiful valley near historic Mast Country Store. Valle Crucis is the only North Carolina community on National Register of historic places. House is located across road from Watauga River famous for trout fishing.
Near Appalachian State University with excellent summer concert series and near Lees McRae with nationally known summer theater. Near three large snow skiing mountains (Beech, Appalachian, and Sugar Mountain ski resorts. Within short walk from Valle Crucis park (open and free to public) with many walking trails along Watauga river, public bathrooms, and many areas for picnicking. Pets welcome in park.
Near Mast General Store on National Register of Historic Places. Valle Crucis fair each fall during "leaf viewing" season features famous fair with 100 + vendors for crafts and art. Near historic Grandfather Mountain with nature preserves and near historic Blowing Rock famous for shopping district. Many excellent restaurants and antique shops. House nestled on mountainside in quiet area with beautiful views of valley and Blue Ridge Mountains.
Just outside Boone, North Carolina, voted by USA TODAY USA small towns to spend the summer (temp stays around 75 degrees all summer). Winter is time for snow and roaring fire in see-through fireplace between den and living room. Great for entertaining large families. House has separate study/library filled with contemporary and religious books.

Downtown Boone has a variety of unique shops, ranging from art galleries and antique shops to outdoor retail stores. You could spend all day on King Street and never see the same thing twice, and if you get hungry there are several restaurants downtown that offer everything from sandwiches to Japanese food.
If Golf is your game, spend the day hitting the greens at Boone Golf Club. Located just off Highway 321, Boone Golf Club has been a favorite for golfers in the area for many years and continues to operate a truly stunning mountain course.
Other attractions include Fun N Wheels go kart racing, Magic Mountain mini golf, and the small gem mines entertain visitors to Boone and provide fun for the whole family.
