Pinecone Cottage gives you the best of both worlds: A forest retreat with access to 1800 acre Lake Allegan and the attractions of Lake Michigan resort towns nearby. A forest path takes you to the lake view bluff. Stairs to the lake include an overlook deck in the trees for picnics or solitude. The 108 ft. private waterfront has sand bottom for swimming, a private dock, swimming & sunbathing raft, 6 kayaks for your use. In winter, skiing and snowmobile trails are at your doorstep. Our forest retreat is 25 minutes from the Lake Michgan coast resort towns of Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven with their colorful, festive atmosphere, events and tourist attractions. Charming Allegan with it's famous antique fair is minutes away. Enjoy this lovely, cozy cottage where the 55,000 acre Allegan State Forest is at your doorstep and a forest path leads you to 1800 acre Lake Allegan with it's fishing, wildlife and recreation bounty.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Your 50% deposit reserves Pine Cone Cottage for your use.
Cancellations, for any reason, will result in forfeiture of all monies received unless the property is re-rented.
The re-rented portion less a $50 re-rental fee will be refunded by check within 7 days.
Final payment for peak season rentals is due June 1.
Final payment for other dates, including taxes and security deposit is due on arrival.
A security deposit of $100 for weekend and $150 for weekly reservations is required.
Security deposits are refunded by check within 7 days of your departure provided there are no damages or excessive cleaning charges to be deducted.

First floor has 1 bedroom with queen thermarest mattress. The second bedroom is a loft with cathedral ceiling and queen bed pillow top mattress. There is a fold-out queen couch in the living room with a mattress topper to add for comfort when opened up.
Dock - Boat slip
There is a large fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher and a fully equipped laundry. Linens and paper goods are provided. The modern bath has tub/shower surround. There is a 400 foot path through the woods and around the owners’ home to the lake bluff, 31 steps down to the lake overlook deck, and 36 steps from there to the waterfront. The overlook deck and waterfront are wooded and private, and cannot be seen from the house. The waterfront is a gently sloping sand bottom good for swimming. Please see photos for details. Amenities: 60' x 70' fenced dog yard, large deck, BBQ grill, sleeping loft, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, linens and paper goods provided, window A/C, TV/DVD/VCR, local phone, access to inland lake waterfront and dock, all-sport lake, lake bluff deck, 6 kayaks,(including one that is specially equipped for fishing) pedal boat equipped with rod holders, large canoe, bonfire pit with firewood, 2 pr.snowshoes.

Activities: A perfect year round winter retreat, with x-country skiing and snow mobile trails, sleigh rides and downhill skiing nearby. There is a snowmobile clubhouse with Sunday morning pancake breakfasts and a large system of trails nearby. See the Allegan County Snowmobile club website. Large bonfire circle with firewood provided. We also provide two pairs of snowshoes. Enjoy a variety of sports on Lake Allegan, the Kalamazoo River and nearby Lake Michigan area, and swimming, fishing, kayaking from our dock. Enjoy golf, biking, hiking, horseback riding and hay rides, antiquing and antique fair, art gallery tours, shopping, orchards and fruit picking, haunted corn maize, winery tours, maritime museums, dunes rides, county fair, fine or casual dining, X-country and downhill skiing, snowmobile trails and clubhouse. Enjoy an evening around the campfire in your private woodland clearing.
Power boat access landings to Lake Allegan and the Kalamazoo River within 2 miles. Great fishing for small and large mouth bass, northern, catfish, salmon. State snowmobile trails and clubhouse within 2 miles. Area: The most beautiful, hospitable and scenic area of Southwest Michigan. Forest and water trails and beautiful Lake Michigan beaches are a few minutes from cosmopolitan recreation activities. This is an area you will want to return to again and again.
